Incredible gift ideas can be found all over the mall. As we head into Wedding Season, consider registering for your event at Yesterday's Treasures! Do you or a loved one have a special event coming up? A bridal or baby shower? Perhaps a wedding? Maybe an anniversary party? We would like you to consider using our gift registry service. What better way to ensure a unique event (not to mention one that reflects your personal taste)! Vintage, collectible and antique items are around every corner, why not come in and take a look. Our friendly staff will show your guests the items that you have pre-selected to make the process fun and easy for everyone.
One of the underappreciated aspects of shopping at the antique mall is the fact that we are, to one extent or another, re-cycling previously used items. Some vendors take this a step further and "Upcycle" items either by improving an older piece or, as in the case of Sandy in Booth 71, re-purposing one altogether. Sandy explained that she takes unwanted or disposed of windows, furniture, fixtures and hardware and creates something new and different out of it. For example, a window might find new life as a coffee table or cabinet. In this example, Sandy has taken an old window and used it to create the door of a new cabinet. She re-uses hinges, doorknobs and other fixtures to create the look she wants and in this case used old barn wood to build the rest of the piece. Items don't have to have a radically different purpose. This compact kitchen table with pull out leaves was cleaned up and painted and re-purposed as a desk. This old radio is finding second life as a wine rack. It's been painted to match the bottles. There are many ways to approach upcycling and we will be looking at others in the future. Sandy's unique creations can be found upstairs in Booth 71.
